After having experienced miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy in our attempt to add to our family, myself and my husband then experienced difficulties conceiving at all, called secondary infertility.

We had been trying to conceive for many months and had tests, which could not find any explanation. I was prescribed a six month prescription of Clomid, however these did not make any difference and had me suffering horrible side effects.
I heard about acupuncture for fertility and a friend recommended Geraldine. I came off the medication and made the appointment with her. Geraldine was so professional, approachable and friendly. I instantly felt I had made the correct decision to attend her clinic. She took detailed notes of my history and worked out a plan for me which included acupuncture with Chinese herbs and tea. The tea wasn’t the most pleasant tasting but I trusted in her plan and
followed her instructions to the letter. Thankfully so, as we became pregnant. Although still very nervous, given our previous history of losses, we couldn’t believe our luck to have conceived.
Geraldine is so knowledgeable on all things fertility, conception and pregnancy and has a calm manner and I know she was invested in our plan and on this journey with us, as she was excited and nervous for us but kept us hopeful and positive. She was an invaluable support to us and reassured me during those first months and advised me on having early blood tests and scans.
I had acupuncture for hyperemises which really helped and I continued to attend and enjoy the relaxing and beneficial acupuncture sessions throughout the pregnancy, although not as frequently after the first 14 weeks.
We are excitedly awaiting the arrival of our newest little bundle this month and cannot thank Geraldine enough for all her help and support in expanding our family. We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Geraldine and her fertility acupuncture to any couple on their journey to conceive and throughout the pregnancy.

I attended Geraldine after suffering from irregular periods since going off the pill for a number of months

​I was trying to conceive my first child and was finding it difficult to pinpoint ovulation as my cycles were so long. The longest cycle was 87 days! I saw Geraldine for Acupuncture once a week for the first six weeks and reduced this to every fortnight after that. Geraldine also advised me to start taking a course of Herbs to be taken twice a day, which I took religiously. Geraldine told me it could take between three and six months for my cycles to return to normal. After the first month of taking the herbs and attending sessions, my cycle reduced from 87 days to 34 days. After four months, I became pregnant! I stopped taking herbs at this point but I attended Geraldine every two weeks for the first trimester. I did not suffer from any morning sickness. I plan to return for more acupuncture at week 36.

I attended Geraldine after 15 months of trying to conceive my second child.

Suffering from PCOS meant that I had very long menstrual cycles and monitoring my hormonal blood work meant that I could see that I rarely ovulated at all! I saw Geraldine on a weekly basis for the first number of months and then she decided what was appropriate depending on what stage of my cycle I was at. I had 3 failed tracked cycles on Femara under the care of my gynaecologist and when it got to a year and a half of trying to get this much wanted pregnancy, I felt myself getting emotionally down and disheartened.
It was at this stage that myself & Geraldine decided it was time for a break from the medicated cycles and to focus on myself and my menstrual and reproductive health, as well as my mind. Geraldine had initially carried out an extremely detailed assessment of my current menstrual status and history etc. when I first attended and so she was able to advise commencing a course of herbs along with the acupuncture, in order to restore my cycles back to good health. Geraldine had said it could take anything from a few months to start seeing an improvement in my cycles but that she was confident it would help. After the first cycle of taking the herbs my menstrual cycle went from 60 days to 32 days and after the second cycle of taking the herbs I got what I had finally been waiting for, that is a positive pregnancy test! Incredible!
Geraldine treated me every week for the first 12 weeks of my pregnancy and once again I returned to her for to prepare my body for delivery, from 36 weeks on a weekly basis. Yet again (to no surprise given her success with helping me get pregnant in the first place) when I attended for my appointment at 39 weeks + 6 days and after 2 failed sweeps, she told me “Okay let’s get this baby out!” That was at 2pm on the 10th October 2016 and my waters broke at 5am 11th October 2016 and I was only in the hospital a mere 30 minutes when my beautiful little girl was put in to my arms at 11.20am. I have no doubt that it was because of the acupuncture in my last 4 weeks of pregnancy, that allowed me to have such a successful and enjoyable birth, as my body was so ready for the job at hand!

After developing severe Symphisis Pubic Dysfunction (S.P.D) with the latter stages of my second pregnancy, this resulted in me needing the aid of crutches.

I began acupuncture sessions with
Geraldine early in 3rd pregnancy to try and avoid the same fate after early signs. I had been told that it is very likely to re­occur and worsen with each pregnancy. I attended weekly at first and once under control fortnightly throughout the pregnancy. Although I was carrying a big baby (my son was 9lbs 9ozs) I managed to avoid S.P.D completely though out the pregnancy, aside from the odd twinge. I had also been suffering with constant nausea when I began Acupuncture sessions, which responded immediately with Acupuncture. Geraldine also
treated me for Sinusitis, which I would have suffered with on and off, and general increase in mucous production was also treated & noticeably improved. I initially attended Acupuncture with an open mind, never having experienced it before, & just desperate to avoid going through a similar fate as I had in my 2nd pregnancy. I found it beneficial in dealing with symptoms & when they presented thoughout the following two pregnancies, &
extremely relaxing – overall something that I found conventional medicine couldn’t provide me with in the same way. I would highly recommend Geraldine and Acupuncture for anyone who is

I went to see Geraldine when I was trying to get pregnant and cannot recommend her highly enough!

I was in my late 30’s and it was taking longer to conceive my third, than the first two. I was nervous of the thought of needles but Geraldinewas both professional and understanding, and put me at ease immediately. I’ve been to see Geraldine many times over the years for help after miscarriage, to help fertility, pre – birth and to help with managing stress, and believe her treatments have always helped! I was suffered from terrible morning sickness,

I went to Geraldine in the hope that it might help my sickness. I had it on my previous pregnancy also, I found the session it self very relaxing. After the treatment, Geraldine also placed little acupuncture press needles on certain points that I could press myself in between treatments. They were like tiny plasters. Almost straight away I stop being sick, the nausea persisted, but the press tacks used to really help me when the nausea was bad. The acupuncture made my experience with morning sickness manageable on this pregnancy and I would highly recommend Geraldine.

I have suffered from sinuses and asthma since my twenties but this year has been my worst year.

I have taken many different type of medications this year and nothing seem to work. I then decided to attend Geraldine to try Acupuncture & Chinese Herbs to see if it would relieve some of my symptoms. My friend had been to her previously for a similar problem.

My symptoms on the first day I went to see Geraldine was constantly running eyes with puffiness, pain and puffiness in my face. I would wake in the middle of the night from itchy eyes and they would be stuck together. My nose was also completely blocked.

On my first treatment I could feel it working, straight away, my nose started to run and I felt instant relief. Geraldine finished the treatment with cupping on my back and I felt instant relief with my asthma. The next morning the puffiness in my eyes had gone down and the itching in my eyes was gone. I felt much better, I started to take the Chinese herbal tablets which Geraldine had prescribed and I could feel my sinuses continue to improve and the watering eyes stopped also. I have continued with my acupuncture sessions. I cannot believe how good I feel from the Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs and cupping.

On my previous two pregnancies( when I hadn’t tried acupuncture) I vomited nearly every morning and on bad days three to six times throughout the day.On this pregnancy I’ve rarely been sick and the actual feeling of nausea has been considerably more manageable.I’d recommend that anyone whose suffering from morning sickness try it.I’m delighted I did.

I have suffered from hay fever for the last 15 years and the only thing that ever relieved it before now was a steroid injection during the springtime.

However, my GP advised me that getting this steroid injection every year could lead to problems with my bone marrow in later life so I just suffered in silence every summer. I have also had an on/off snoring problem (for my wife!) for a number of years I saw Geraldine’s advertisement in a local paper in Kilkenny and decided to see if she could help. I had 2 sessions which included acupuncture and Geraldine gave me some Chinese herbal medicine to take at home. The herbal medicine is not tasty by the way! After about 4 or 5 days I began to notice a major reduction in the hay fever and snoring. I haven’t had any problems with either of them since. I’m expecting to have to go back to Geraldine next summer when hay fever season begins but if it works again happy days.
